Chapter 1.0

They spoke about this and that. There is no dearth of topics to engage in conversation, especially between two averagely read individuals. They tried to hide their discomfort at this unusual set-up. It was like getting to know someone on a first date. Except that these were two individuals who had played together, shared a home and loved one another. And now that knowledge seemed to be the biggest obstacle to communicating. There were answers one wanted, there were answers the other didn’t have, replies were terser and more guarded as the minutes passed.

“Henry…’ she pleaded, “I am your Dad.”
‘I have never doubted it for a moment. But it just doesn’t feel right”, he said.
Henry Gopalakrishnan hoped the evening would end soon and he could run back to the familiar loneliness of his empty house.
